I offer short term consultant advice from a practical perspective. This is often of value in validating and improving desk top consultant work by others, or by limiting detailed analysis to specific areas rather than an entire project. I have an eye (some would say an obsession) for the detail, where the devil frequently lurks.I have 35 years experience in all aspects of Logistics operations, mostly in warehouse and transport roles cumulating in General Manager positions in warehouse and transport operations for the major UK 3rd Party Logistics provider, on a variety of open and closed book contracts. Having been made redundant, I now offer my experience to resolve issues and improve operations on a consultancy basis. My experience in a variety of food and non food operations, and in all positions within Logistics Operations, both own account and as a 3PL gives me a broad based understanding of processes, and a deep working knowledge of what can go wrong and how to quickly solve the problem.I have implemented several warehouse IT systems into operations, and resolved issues arising from such changes. Most recently, I have assisted in planning and organising abnormal loads for the wind turbine industry, in the UK, Ireland and Norway, from ship arrival at port to unloading at site, and from sales tender to project management stages. I have also devised and implemented systems for booking of vehicles and maintaining stock integrity across several sites run by various contractors, and also implemented a trial for live small animal distribution.I am happy to review plans or projects to give an independent view of potential problems and suggest improvements to increase the chances of successful delivery on time, first time.
