It was a good experience working with Mackenzie Maritime EA Limited. We have managed to install a quality management system with certification achieved. Improved our safety culture from reactive based to proactive based approach. Setting and monitoring departmental KPI's. Above all, installing a culture of employee participation when it comes to policy and procedure formulations. As we transition to Bulkstream Logistics, My hope is that we will be a logistics company of it's kind.

• Developing the Project Quality, Health and safety management plans e.g Logistics Execution plan.• Ensure that Plans developed are consisted with established Bolloré Africa Logistics standards on QHSE.• Monitor and inform/communicate/apply standards created/maintained by the client, and other external bodies, and integrate these within the projects internal quality management systems.• Report as necessary on changes in standards (internally and externally initiated) and on performance against standards.• Liaise and co-operate with quality management and standards bodies (e.g. KEBS & TBS, Government Departments, HSE, etc)• Increase awareness on relevant health and safety policy.• Provision of emergency procedures, first-aid facilities, safety signs, relevant protective clothing and equipment, and incident reporting to the relevant authorities.• Surveillance and reporting on health and safety practices and systems.• Implements and monitors training program for drivers and project operational staff• Leads toolbox meetings and convoy pre-loading and pre-departure inspections• Ensures all equipment and personnel compliant certification are maintained

1. Developing EHS Management Policies• Assesses existing policies and proposes improvements in view of the nature of business• Develops risk profile with appropriate mitigation strategies• Ensures compliance to Occupational Health regulations• Directs the resources and activities of the organization to support the EHS programs by providing advice and guidance to the Company Senior Management• Regularly reviews internal EHS policies and practices to ensure they are current and appropriate2. Coordinating Awareness Campaigns and Training Programs• Maintains an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge and preparedness across the organization to create a culture that prioritizes effective EHS and balances overall associated costs• Coordinates training programs for employees dependent on job roles and work stations3. Conducting EHS Audits• Ensures compliance to EHS policy by employees across the organisation and sub-contractors• Conducts periodic assessments of all activities and work-stations/sites, and tables measures for reduction and/or elimination of risk4. Investigating Workplace Incidents• Perform a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for all health & safety incidents and/or near miss occurrences, and ensure proper records are completed and submitted to relevant stakeholders• Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of any incidence including EHS consciousness campaigns and training programs5. Reporting and Other Administrative roles• Prepare regular reports on EHS risk audits, inspection results and employee response to drills• Ensures Continuous Improvement in the Safety Management Program• Participate in the bidding processes where EHS input is required• Regularly communicates EHS matters with third parties and government agencies such as the Local Administration, Municipal Council, NEMA and DOHS; responsible for establishing buy in from these parties through consultation.
