I am passionate about community improvement. My career began as an Investigator with Child Protective Services (CPS). This gave me a valuable opportunity to improve the lives of children in my community by assessing risk and safety concerns. If I determined there was a crisis, I would relocate the children to a safer environment such as a shelter or foster home. This also gave me the opportunity to collaborate with various entities such as counselors, law enforcement authorities, and community outreach organizations to help families reunify. During my time at CPS, I noticed there was a tremendous need in my community for parents to receive education in effective parenting techniques. So, I decided to join a local non-profit organization (Tip of Texas Family Outreach) that specializes in providing casework with a focus on parent education. There, I helped clients obtain the education and resources needed to improve their parenting skills, and thus the lives of the children in my community. Currently, I work as a Case Manager at International Educational Services. In my free time, I enjoy volunteering in a kickball league that strives to provide the young girls of my community the opportunity to participate in sports. I help develop their team spirit, character, and integrity.
