Provide strategic leadership; undertake resource mobilisation for the organisation to implement projects through the Education Justice Programme; the Health Justice Programme; the Environmental and Climate Change Programme; and the Economic Justice, Business and Human Rights Programme. I also coordinate The Kenya Stakeholders Coalition on the Universal Periodic Review

I dealt with procedural matters in relation to cases before the Tribunal including certifying of orders and directions or decision of the Tribunal. I ensured that proceedings are kept. I supervised the maintenance of the Registers. I keep minutes of the meetings of the Tribunal. I managed and supervised the Tribunal staff.

I provided strategic leadership and technical support. I initiated and sustained partnerships and collaboration in the project countries in Africa. I initiated, scaled up and implemented UPR engagements in 14 Anglophone countries including Botswana, Burundi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Swaziland, Tanzania, and Uganda. I organised and facilitated UPR trainings, meetings and processes with Universal Periodic Review (UPR) stakeholders in Africa including Governments, NGOs, NHRIs, U.N. Country Teams, diplomats, development agencies and the media. I provided technical advice and feedback to the U.N. Human Rights Council on the UPR process.

Provided strategic leadership; undertook resource mobilisation and coordinated a child rights network.

Provided substantive and logistical support to the National Working Groups located at the Bar Associations in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Maintained contact with key access to justice stakeholders.

Responsible for the management of the organization including providing leadership and co-ordinating all programmes, projects and activities. Co-ordinated the development of the annual work plans. Supervised monthly results based monitoring process. Co-ordinated resource mobilization. Served as chairperson of the Stakeholder Reference Group (SRG) of the Civil Society Democratic Governance Fund known as Amkeni WaKenya. Represented the organisation in (1) The National Advisory/Consultative Committee on the Implementation of International Human Rights Treaty obligations; (2) The National Steering Committee that developed the National Policy and Action Plan on Human Rights; (3) The National Steering Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons in Kenya; and (4) The Governance, Justice, Laws and Order Sector (GJLOS) Reform Programme between 2006 and 2010.

Provided leadership and co-ordinated all programmes, projects and activities. Undertook research, lobbying and advocacy on different topical issues relating to child rights. As head of the Policy programme, mainstreamed child rights in legislation and ensuring that laws and policies are child friendly. Served as the head researcher and editor of The CRADLE publications. Served as the Coordinator of the Juvenile Justice Network (JJN). Served as Regional Representative of East and Southern Africa in the NGO Advisory Council of the U.N. Secretary General’s Study on Violence Against Children (UNVAC) between 2006 and 2008.

Provided legal aid and representation and co-ordinated The CRADLE’s very successful national Pro Bono lawyer’s scheme where they provide legal aid to victims of gender based violence, particularly sexual violence. I also undertook school and community legal awareness campaigns and legal aid clinics on human rights to empower women and children, and trained lawyers and paralegals on child rights.
