The design of the upper ore body project with Multi-skilled – combine Long term and Short term mine planning and blasting operations. The challenge was to design and develop development in BSS (Sand) and highly fractured rocks. The Knowledgeable on all mine operations in using practical application of Micro Station and Mine 2-4D software, with other software like DIPs, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Excel helped to Monitoring ground movements, designs and controlling efficiencies and powder factors on primary development, secondary development. To provide, design and determine timely and accurate cycle of mining operations, workable long term, medium term and short term plans so that resources involved are effectively utilized to meet target development meters and ore production at minimum cost and in the safest possible manner. To formulate long, medium and short term schedules for development, construction, long hole drilling, caving and production of the mine. To ensure that the Mine Planning Project group are providing the required level of service to mine operations and projects in the field. To ensure all plans, designs and schedules for underground work are in accordance with the applicable mining, explosive & environmental regulations. To ensure optimum utilization of the financial, material and labour resources deployed for the project. Responsible for monitoring and evaluating the progress for all underground works under jurisdiction (Development, construction, LHD, caving, support).

CAREER BACKGROUND.Upon completion of senior secondary education at Highridge Secondary School in kabwe, I pursued a Diploma in Mining Engineering at the Copperbelt University in Kitwe from 1997 to 2000 as a full-time student. While pursuing this course, I did my Industrial Attachment at Mufulira Division (ZCCM by then) in 1997. In 1998 whilst still at the Copperbelt University, I did my final year Project entitled “STUDY OF RECOVERY AND DILUTION FOR MECHANISED CONTINUOUS RETREAT (MCR) MINING METHOD WITH RESPECT TO STOPE LAYOUT DESIGN, DRILLING PATTERNS AND DRAW CONTROL” at Mindola North Shaft Nkana Division. I graduated from the Copperbelt University in 2001. The Industrial Attachment and the Final Year Project at Nkana equipped me with the practical appreciation of my Mining Engineering career. On 25th October 2005, I joined Nampundwe Mine (under ZCCM by then) as a Mining Technologist under Mining Department. After undergoing and completing the Development Programme, I worked on all mining operations as helper, Person-In-Charge (PIC), Shift Boss Production (Back Shifts), Shift Boss RBS (Day shift), Also worked as a Mine Captain others(back shift production) and then Mine Captain Rock breaking specialist (RBS) ,Senior Assistant Planning and Blasting Engineer (under Mine Planning and Blasting Section). On 5th May 2009 Nampundwe Mine was Closed , then I was transferred to Nchanga Mine at UOB Projects Underground were I worked as Senior Assistant Planning Engineer from 05/05/2009 to 09/10/2011. Currently, I am working for KCM Nampundwe Mine as Senior Planning and Blasting Engineer after being transferred from Nchanga Mine in Mine Planning and Blasting Section under Mining Department.

September 2008 to January 2009MINE CAPTAIN RBS (ROCK BREAKER SPECIALIST) – DAY SHIFT Mine Captain – Supervising a total work force of 104 men in primary development, ore tramming, pump chamber and dewatering boreholes maintenance and related operations. Responsibilities included planning and organizing the economic tramming of pyrite ore and as prescribed by planned targets by rail mining operations. Directed subordinate staff to ensure that targeted primary development meters are achieved. Controlled operating costs to ensure that they are within the approved budget. Ensured that all operations within my section are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with the Government Mining and Explosives Regulations and domestic standards. Responsibilities also included monitoring daily operations to ensure effective teamwork and discipline in my section, trained and developed subordinate staff to promote efficiency and meet manpower .In charge of all rock breaking specialist activities – secondary development, primary development, long hole drilling, stoping, secondary blasting, hand lashing, mechanical lashing, pipe laying and general timbering.
