The Veterans Service Representative (VSR) explains benefit programs and entitlement criteria, analyzes claims material, identifies issues, gathers relevant evidence, conducts interviews to adjudicate claims and inputs data necessary to generate the award and notification letter to the veteran describing the decision. Specifically, the VSR will:Make determinations as to the eligibility for the type of benefit sought to include questions relating to adequacy of military service, medical evidence, and the evaluation of evidence of income, employability, dependence, and relationship.Request examinations, re-examination, or opinions to evaluate disabilities resulting from diseases or injuries.Review claims cases to assure all issues have been addressed, applies, and interprets VA laws, including veterans' case law, existing statutes and procedures, precedent rulings, and state law in the adjudication process.May conduct interviews in person or by phone with veterans, representatives, and advocates to explain the full range of VA benefits and related programs.Prepare and release correspondence for use by other federal, state, and local agencies.Utilize various electronic data processing (DEPP) systems to input data for processing claims and generating automated correspondence.

As an HR Specialist - Advisor, you will provide oversight and evaluation of all HR sections, research laws and regulations, develop policies, guidelines, and desk references. The position is responsible for working with staff at various organizational levels to identify, analyze, problem-solve, and resolve potentially complex issues and difficult situations that arise throughout the organization. The Advisor will serve as an expert "troubleshooter" in the various human resources management functional specialties for both operational and program issues. The work demands an unusual degree of insight into the understanding of and sensitivity between various personnel programs and to the organizational and management relationships within the services VA organizations as well as Workforce Management and Consulting Office (WMC).Serve as a senior-subject matter expert to HR leadership and stakeholdersDevelop human resources best practices to create a center of excellenceProvide management advisory services in all HR functional specialtiesIdentify/resolve complex HR problemsLead projects that include performing analysis of existing and new HR requirementsInterpret/analyze HR laws to provide guidance where few precedents existAdvise managers on succession planningDevelop guidelines/SOPs to assist in improvement of HR processes

The Advanced MSA works collaboratively in an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model and performs receptionist duties, customer service and other duties assigned for the proper and timely treatment of patients and maintains appointment schedules for one or more outpatient clinics. The incumbent must assist with clinic access contingency plans by adjusting appointment times, location, or dates as well as shift patients to other healthcare providers as conflict with staffing and/or coverage occurs. The Advanced MSA may be required to serve on more than one PACT or in more than one Specialty Clinic area, or rotate in any MSA area.Supports patient safety standards using the correct Veterans Affairs identification of all patients through the use of two forms of identification, name and full Social Security Number. The patient may also present the Veterans Health Identification Card (VHIC) for identification.The incumbent must use each interaction with the patient to validate and update patient demographic information, either in person during check-in or over the phone, to decrease the incidence of returned mail due to incorrect addresses and inability to contact patient by phone due to incorrect number. The Advanced MSA fully participates in the daily teamlet huddles and/or weekly team meetings where patient care planning and management occur.

· Successfully resolve technical issues (hardware and software) from incoming internal or external businesses and end user’s contacts and proactive notification systems.· Respond to service, product, technical, and customerrelations questions on subjects such as features, specifications, and repairs on current and discontinued products, parts, and options, based on customer entitlement (warranty through mission-critical).· Proactively assist internal or external businesses and end users to avoid or reduce problem occurrence.· Ability to act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decisionmaking process.· Review and may resolve complex business issues.· Excellent communication skills.
