Gilbert Garant has been in the financial services industry for over 20 years. He has joined RBC Dominion Securities in 2004 as Vice-President and Investment Advisor. Gilbert has also worked as a registered Futures and Options Investment Advisor for two Canadian financial institutions and as a Vice-President of Corporate Risk Management for a European firm specialized in derivatives products.From the very start, his main focus has been on Futures markets, and he dedicated his time to developing a unique expertise that has greatly benefited his clients throughout his career. Using his extensive knowledge, Gilbert has helped a large number of public and private corporations to develop hedging programs that suit their specific needs. His proficiency in the highly demanding Commodities and Futures markets has made him a regular guest speaker for many events in agricultural, forest and energy industries.Having graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Université de Montréal, and completed his Canadian Securities Course in 1989, Gilbert has been registered as a Futures and Options Investment Advisor since 1990. In addition to having completed numerous courses on the derivatives instruments offered by the Canadian Securities Institute, he also regularly participates in many specialized seminars organized by major US Futures Exchanges (CME, CBOT, NYMEX) in order to maintain his knowledge of current events, trends and technology.
