Gilberto Escobedo has an ample track record in the finance and business sectors with a particular focus on Corporate Finance and Investment Banking. His experience has been centered in the analysis, diagnostic, and implementation of strategies for M&A, private equity, and project finance. He has extensive knowledge of the business environment and financial markets in Mexico, as well as the ties of the Mexican market with the United States and Europe. Additionally, Gilberto has actively participated in the strategic planning processes for firms in several industries.Before joining Serficor in 1992, he acquired particular expertise with Booz Allen & Hamilton in Mexico, where he participated in the valuation and privatization of the Mexican commercial banks between 1990 and 1992. Within Serficor, he has participated in buy and sell side assignments for more than 15 companies in several different industries, in the design and implementation of financial structures for investment projects in the electricity, toll road, and petrochemical areas, as well as in private equity placements for middle market firms. He has advised both Mexican and foreign clients, such as Grupo Embotelladores del Sureste, Grupo Vendes, Andrade Gutiérrez, Prudential Financial, and Henkel KgA, among others.In late 2006, Serficor’s partners sold their firm to ABN Amro, and its entire team of professionals merged with ABN Amro’s operations in Mexico. Nevertheless, in July 2007, Mr. Escobedo decided to continue with a new independent middle market M&A practice.
