About Giles Roberts

As part of the integrated academic clinical training scheme my time is split between speciality training in Anaesthesia and my National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Academic Clinical Fellowship in medical education where I am investigating teacher credibility. Clinically my interests lie in Anaesthesia, Trauma & Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM).After completing undergraduate medical training in Devon & Cornwall with the Peninsula College of Medicine & Dentistry (Universities of Exeter & Plymouth) I relocated to the West Midlands to complete the foundation programme at University Hospital North Midlands. Prior to entering training in Anaesthesia I spent an additional twelve months gaining experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and Acute Rehabilitation. In August 2016 I started training in Acute Care Common Stem (ACCS) Anaesthesia and completed a year out of programme pursuing my interest in medical education as Clinical Teaching Fellow for Undergraduate Assessment at Keele University Medical School. In August 2020 I commenced speciality training in Anaesthesia and in February 2021 was appointment as an Academic Clinical Fellow in Medical Education where I have continued to expand my educational experience, have been involved in multiple research projects, and am working towards a Masters Degree in Medical Education alongside my clinical speciality training.
