Following separation from Perry Bishop and Chambers, Cotswold Surveyors now trade as an independent practice of Chartered Surveyors and Valuers acting for a varied portfolio of private and corporate clients.Whilst undertaking a hands-on day-to-day management role for our expanding team of professional and administrative staff, including audit and business development, I also retain a full, active survey and valuation function, reporting on a diverse range of property and construction matters for a wide range of private and corporate clients.

In 2002 I joined Perry Bishop and Chambers Ltd, a very well respected practice of Chartered Surveyors, Estate Agents and Valuer’s. My brief was to develop a professional Survey and Valuation division throughout their five-office network.2004 - Appointed Main Board Survey and Valuation Director.2005 - In anticipation of the introduction of HIPS, the Survey and Valuation division re-branded as Cotswold Surveyors and became a separate limited company, wholly owned by the Perry Bishop and Chambers group. I was appointed Managing Director with a brief of expanding the business both in terms of geographical coverage and staff, at the same time as maintaining an active survey function.2011 - Following rapid growth both in terms of activity and expansions, which included the acquisitions of an independent practice of Chartered Surveyors in Worcester, and a Leasehold Block Management company, Cotswold Surveyors was the subject of a management buy-out and we now trade wholly as an Independent Professional Practice.

Regional Surveyor with initial responsibilities for the Thames Valley area. Daily duties included the effective running and management of the Staff Surveyor network within the regions and financial control based of annual budgets. I also had regional audit responsibility and authority for approval of high-priced valuation work. An active fee-earning survey function was also maintained. 2000 – Region changed to management of The Midlands area.

Cheltenham and Gloucester Building Society - Staff Valuer for the Cheltenham, Worcester, Cirencester and Gloucester areas.Principal role was to undertake Mortgage Valuations for secured lending throughout a prescribed postcode area but principally in the GL, WR and occasionally HR areas.In 1997, following identification of a lack of specific industry safety guidance for Surveyors, and other construction personnel working remotely, I produced a guidance booklet on ‘Health and Safety for Surveyors' for use by C&G professional staff. The training module was adopted extensively within the industry and in February 2000 I made a formal presentation on the subject to a number of external groups as well as 900-professional personnel as part of the R.I.C.S. ‘5-Counties Millennium Conference’.In 1998/9, as part of Lloyds TSB’s customer service initiative, I was the lead in developing an innovative in-house Survey product as an alternative to the ‘RICS Homebuyer Report and Valuation’. This culminated in the launch of the ‘C&G Survey’ in June 1999, a product, which was sold successfully throughout the C&G and Lloyds TSB branch network for many years.
