Patrick Gilhooly is an environmental professional with over 12 years of work experience in wildlife biology and applied ecology. Patrick holds a MSc. in Ecology, an HBSc. in Environmental and Resource Science and an Advanced Diploma in Ecosystem Management Technology. Patrick has a passion for applied ecology and is driven to connect science with society in a meaningful way. Growing up in the Greater Toronto Area, Patrick developed an appreciation and respect for nature and wildlife that he wanted to protect for current and future generations. Building on his education from Ontario, Patrick gained valuable experience in Alberta working on several collaborative research programs. For example, studying the behaviour and movement patterns of the boreal toad and wood frog pre and post-harvest, the protection of waterfowl in the Athabasca oil sands or investigating grizzly bear train-caused mortality in Banff and Yoho National Parks. Returning to Ontario, Patrick continued to follow his passion for applied ecology by working as a public servant for Environment and Climate Change Canada and Parks Canada Agency. Patrick is now applying his extensive knowledge and expertise to the environmental consulting industry and working towards building a more sustainable future.Patrick always brings a positive attitude to the team and maintains productive relationships with diverse project partners. He is reliable, hard-working, and continually seeks to improve as an individual and team. In his spare time, you will find him gardening, biking, hiking, canoeing, and enjoying Canada’s unique landscapes or travelling abroad.
