I ran a small Cafe within a centre for disabled and learning impaired people. Whilst the Cafe itself was not very busy, we also had 2 Trolley runs to local offices and did a lot of outside catering. Whilst the Cafe itself was not very busy, we also had 2 Trolley runs to local offices and did a lot of outside catering. It was an interesting job that saw me doing a lot of cooking of main meals, cakes, sausage rolls and other home made offerings. I did all the stock ordering, planning and daily running of the Unit. Responsibility for all health and safety, allergen compliance and staff training was part of my job. We had a small team of 3, but it was a fast paced job that required good time management and planning to achieve the high workload within our working day. Due to the Company downsizing and cutting staff costs I am now looking for my next challenge. Show less

I started work in the Deli/Cafe part time in 2004 and worked my way up to full time ( once my children were old enough ) until I became Manager. After my boss decided to leave the country and live in France, I continued to run the shop and promote the business until in June 2014 he sold the business and then I decided it was time for a new challenge. I learn a lot whilst running a business, as I had to deal with all aspects including staff hiring and complete stock management from ordering to extending the range depending on customer trends, to ensure a good profit margin and minimize wastage.
