Class offered online starting March 2020 due to Covid-19. Previously offered at East Bay Community Space in Oakland, California.Intimate, small-group community classes focusing on weaving yoga philosophy and yogic concepts into the physical practice. Classes include meditation, breath work, reflection, and asana practice focusing on strength, flexibility, and balance. Trauma-informed instruction emphasizing choice and agency, self-compassion, and community-building.

Serve individual clients and groups to provide therapeutic yoga to address emotional, mental, and physical needs, using breath work, physical postures, meditation, and reflection on yoga philosophy and yogic concepts.

Provide hourlong weekly mat/chair hybrid yoga class for residents in MPI’s (Merritt Peralta Institute) recovery program. Emphasis on yoga, breath, and mindfulness practices to calm nervous system while building strength, flexibility, and balance skills. Mixed level. Students may include those using a wheelchair or walker and those who experience persistent pain. 9-12 students each session

Provide 2 30-minute weekly Dynamic Mindfulness sessions live, online to staff and educators within Jefferson Elementary School District, Daly City, CA. Emphasis on self-care and self-awareness using gentle movement, breathing, and centering practices. 3-9 students each session.

Manage multiple direct service sites, including schools and respite shelters, to ensure that programs (Dynamic Mindfulness and mat-based yoga classes) are delivered using Niroga's trauma-informed practices. Program Manager duties include: managing and mentoring instructors so that they can deliver programs according to contract specifications and Niroga values, and coordinate the administration of research surveys at the sites; coordinating with sites to build class attendance, communicate schedule changes, and discuss any questions that arise; work collaboratively with Program Director and other Program Managers to offer professional development and support to our instructors; and communicate with administrative staff to ensure instructors bill accurately.Communications Manager duties include: maintaining ESP account for inbound marketing efforts, including designing and scheduling emails based on provided content, maintaining subscriber lists to comply with CANSPAM act and ESP terms of use; maintaining organization marketing and communications calendar; working with marketing and communications team to develop strategy to coordinate efforts across multiple platforms, such as social media, list serves, and online posting platforms.

Teach Niroga's Healing Yoga for Cancer Survivors group class at Herrick Campus (Sutter) in Berkeley, CA. Class canceled because of pandemic.Provide yoga instruction to 14-19 students per session, ranging in age and treatment progression (recently diagnosed to undergoing treatment to recovered). Modify class to meet a variety of needs, including for students who practice from a chair, for students who practice while sitting only, and for students who stand, sit, and lie down. Emphasize strength, flexibility, endurance, flow, and balance. Use breath work, physical postures, and yoga philosophy reflections to support the health and wellbeing of the students while also scaffolding their cancer treatments.
