Freelance HarpistFreelance Dec 2007 - PresentGillian has played as a freelance harpist for weddings, graduations, office openings, cocktail hours, and related parties. She also has performed with many professional performing groups, such as the Northern Symphonic Winds, the Orchard Park Symphony Orchestra, the Western New York Future Educators Wind Ensemble, and the Clinton Symphony Orchestra. She has also been seen performing in the pit orchestra for many musicals, most recently Gypsy and Cinderella. She excels at playing contemporary works and performed in the world premiere of three operas, the winners of the Domenic J. Pellicciotti Opera Composition Prize, performed in November 2014.

Harp TeacherFreelance Aug 2011 - May 2015Gillian has taught group harp lessons for students aged 10 to 16 years through the National String Project chapter at The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam from 2011 to 2015. This required extensive lesson planning and management of small group lessons with various skill levels. Not only did she teach playing the harp but aspects of basic music theory to her students. Gillian has also taught private lessons. These focus on the individual and reaching personal goals of the students.
