I am practicing family law, having joined Widdowson Kachur Ostwald Menzies LLP as Counsel. I strive to assist my clients through the utilization of a variety of dispute resolution models. As well as extensive court experience I am trained in mediation and collaborative law. I am also interested in conducting arbitrations, facilitated settlement meetings and assisting clients by way of limited scope retainers. I served as the Executive Director of Pro Bono Law Alberta (PBLA), a not-for-profit organization with a mission to improve access to justice by increasing the scope and availability of pro bono legal services for low income Albertans. I was re-elected and an am honoured to be serving my second term as a Bencher of the Law Society of Alberta and will have the privilege of serving as President in 2017. I was also recently elected to the Executive Committee of the LSA. I am a Past President of the Alberta Branch of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA). I have been an active member on several LSA and CBA committees over the years. In addition, I am an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Family Law at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Law.I am a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Forum on Civil Justice and the Legal Education Society of Alberta. I am also a member of the Advisory Committee for the Alberta Legal Information Society. and a current member of the CBA's National Standing Committees on Access to Justice and Pro Bono.My past community involvement includes being a member of the Board of Directors of the Immigrant Access Fund, a Past Chair of Children’s Legal and Educational Resource Centre, Past Project Supervisor for Pro Bono Students Canada and Past Legal Clinic Volunteer with Calgary Legal Guidance.
