About Gillian Smith-Clark

Gillian Smith-Clark is an accomplished photographic artist, writer, editor and producer of the ‘Life Outside the Box’ podcast series. Currently Editor in Chief at The 44 North (formerly KBI Inspire Magazine), she is the owner of “A Modern Portrait Media”. A survivor of suicide loss as a young person, she is a passionate advocate for suicide prevention and mental health education. Outside of Canada, Gillian has lived and worked in the United States, England and Estonia, and her camera has traveled with her around the world. She has published two books and currently lives in Northumberland County, Ontario with her family.
