My work as a Technology Consultant centers around data privacy and cybersecurity. I focus on privacy regulation from both an internal audit and a compliance design consulting approach; primary areas of experience are in California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). As a Technology Consultant at Cerner, I worked with a team tasked with moving clients from one electronic health record system to Cerner's EHR software. This involved managing several client projects at once, in which I planned and collaborated with clients both remote and in-person demonstrations to the providers and hospital staff who were our end users. I interacted with clinicians and hospital administrators on a daily basis in preparation for their hospitals going live with Cerner's software. The scope of my role ranged from assisting with the build and testing of multiple system applications to troubleshooting the system once it was live.

My work as a Consulting Analyst for Cerner primarily involved traveling to client sites (acute inpatient facilities and ambulatory clinics) to assist physicians and ancillary staff with the adoption of Cerner software. I worked alongside providers as they navigated the new patient charting software and answered questions for them along with troubleshooting any issues that came up with the system. I also spent time working in Cerner's Command Center where I answered phone calls and helped with the resolution of end user troubleshooting issues and general usage questions.

In the two summers that I spent working for Dr. Kapu, I managed patient records, scheduling, and patient relations for the private medical clinic along with creating general equivalency mapping (GEM) tip sheets to assist the providers and ancillary staff with the transition from ICD-9 to -10 coding. The bulk of my work involved assisting with the migration from paper medical charts to electronic medical records for 500+ patients.

Being a member of the NCAA Division I equestrian team at Baylor University allowed me to strengthen my leadership skills along with my responsibility, diligence and time management. I took on a leadership position my junior and senior season, addressing my teammates before meets, leading chants and cheers during meets and disciplining teammates whenever necessary to encourage a cohesive, winning environment on the team.

As an intern for Baylor Bear Foundation, I worked closely with Director of Communications Jerry Hill, covering mostly football and equestrian. I attended weekly Baylor Football press conferences, recorded and transcribed interviews with players and coaches and wrote feature stories for the foundation's email newsletter, the Baylor Bear Insider. I covered all fall equestrian meets, writing previews and recaps for each event. During my internship with the foundation, I saw my work published to the official Baylor Athletics website, www.baylorbears.com.
