Responsible for the governance of both financial and operational processes across Sky Media partnering with Comcast Cable Controllership as we seek to improve our controls efficiency and effectiveness.

• Successfully led a team of 77 members through a restructure from a territory based split to process organised function, identifying areas for improvement and cross territory alignment whilst maintaining a strong controls environment. • Supported in the planning and design stages of offshore provisioning model defining scope and structure of future retained organisation. • Supervised and supported the effective outward transition of ~60 FTE of transactional based process to third party offshore provider, providing leadership to maintain motivation and engagement within both the offboarding and retained team. • Alongside, managed the inward transition to SSC of ~5 FTE Sky Italia media processing, enabling process change to reduce transmission to bill period from 10 to 5 days. • Stabilised offshore service provision, providing support and direction as appropriate to enable satisfactory service delivery levels from which to deliver process and control improvements. • Provide support and direction in the prioritisation and implementation of process improvements within both offshored and onshore services, collaborating effectively with relevant teams to achieve a right first time approach alongside identifying and implementing process automation.

• Rotated to the UK&I ART team to support the group financial reporting team, considering group function costs, monthly balance sheet and quarterly Detailed Balance Sheet Review (“DBSR”). • Managed the RFP to identify an appropriate statutory accounts software solution and subsequently key contributor toward the implementation plan.

• Responsible for a team varying from 9 to 20 members to manage the general ledger functions of Sky Italia within Sky’s Shared Service Centre of Excellence.• Supervised the transition of >250 sub-processes to the Shared Service Centre of Excellence considering revenues, production costs, marketing and sales costs along with fixed asset capitalisation, amortisation and inventory management.• Created and implemented team improvement plan to allow transition to be undertaken assuming a 10% starting efficiency. A further 8.8% of efficiencies were achieved in the first six months post go live with annual efficiency targets met thereafter.• Introduced End User Computing controls to inherited processes, increasing the control environment surrounding the Sky Italia ledger.• Engaged effectively with key stakeholders across the business including Commercial Finance and both internal and external auditors. • Continued to lead the Finance Delivery communications work stream within a wider engagement project including editing of the regular staff newsletter, introduction of regular “hot seat” articles and updates of the departmental intranet site. • Nominated for an individual “Best of Sky” award, recognising my efforts to “go the extra mile” in everything I do.

I provided maternity cover across the course of a year as Financial Controller within the Actuals Reporting Team. Key highlights and responsibilities included:• Responsible for a team of six to manage the accounting of £7bn TV, Broadband and Talk revenues for both domestic and commercial customers in UK and ROI from billing through to cash collection. • Supervised the set-up of accounting processes for Sky Mobile product line and initial set up of reporting specification. • Engaged effectively with key stakeholders across the business including Commercial Finance, Change Quality and Billing, IT and both internal and external auditors. • Led a departmental review of the documented control processes included within the company control framework, resulting in the archiving of 10% of redundant control procedures and the revision to the wording of a further 30% of ART owned controls. This ensured the ongoing accuracy of the control documentation, standardisation of common controls and confirmed that controls in place were fit for purpose. • Created a control base document register, recording the source and associated parameters of all information and documentation used as part of control activity in order to demonstrate ongoing assessment of the completeness and accuracy of such. • Co-chaired the organising committee for the Sky Finance Conference 2016, “Creating the Future at Sky”. Took on the role of conference host for the Scottish event presenting to ~135 delegates and guests. • Part of the IFRS 15 implementation project working group considering the implications of adoption of the standard on the company and identifying required system and process changes. • Led the Finance Delivery communications work stream within a wider engagement project including the creation of a regular staff newsletter.

I worked in the group audit, risk management and compliance team providing audit services across the group and all areas of the business, focusing on finance and operations. My key areas of responsibility included: • Identification of potentially critical issues and recommendation of solutions to such, cognisant of the associated risk and the requirements of other functions and the business needs as a whole; • Being alert to opportunities to increase efficiency and add value to business processes; • Stakeholder management throughout the audit process, delivering difficult messages to senior management as required and earning “buy in” to proposed solutions;• Development of relationships with stakeholders at all levels across the business with a view to promotion of the ARMC department and enhancing departmental knowledge of the business;• Planning, management and performance of risk based audits of financial, operational and regulatory processes across the company, both in the UK and internationally; and,• Presentation of findings to senior management in a clear and concise manner via formalised reporting processes.

I worked as a Senior Audit Manager within Wylie & Bisset’s Corporate department where I focused mainly in public sector and public interest markets, particularly with regard to both the charity and further education sectors. My appointment with the firm allowed me to enhance my experience by expanding into the “third sector”, specifically charities, FE Colleges and public sector entities whilst continuing engagement in commercial sector audits with turnover up to ~£150m. I greatly enjoyed this change of direction professionally and found my previous experience with large corporates enabled me to provide a more efficient approach and meaningful recommendations to my clients. My background also gave me additional insight in corporate consultancy work which I brought to bear in managing specific “special work” assignments including system and controls reviews; salary benchmarking and assessment of shared services and collaborative working arrangements. I regularly presented W&B “Introduction to Charity Finance” seminars for charity trustees and designed and delivered bespoke training courses to third sector clients on varied topics including risk and risk Management, governance matters and the role of the audit committee. I took pride in tailoring training to meet client requirements and encouraging participation in order to gain optimum benefit for participants. Other projects that I undertook during my time with the firm included the implementation of a “paperless” audit system and ongoing provision of training and system update to W&B methodology resulting in a more streamlined service for clients with consistency and compliance across audit engagements. I was also member of the firm’s technical committee, influencing policy and performing internal audit quality reviews.

During my time with Mazars I progressed from Audit Senior to Audit Manager working mainly within Corporate and Public Interest Markets. My role included managing the audits of large corporate listed clients along with coordinating and reporting international group audit and consolidations and assisting a number of clients with the transition to IFRS. I also undertook investigatory work for clients overseas. Non client responsibilities included graduate interviewing and preparation, coordination and implementation of a two week induction course for new graduate students in Scotland.

Throughout my training contract with Deloitte I gained valuable practical experience within a variety of sectors and successfully lead audit teams as field senior on a wide range of audit assignments. This augmented the theoretical base gained in studying for my ICAEW professional qualification where I achieved all first time passes.
