Under my leadership, Henry’s, the largest independent digital imaging retailer in Canada, transformed from a traditional electronics retailer into one that encourages and builds on the customers’ creativity and passion. This evolution included delivering the best specialty retail experience across Canada, driving innovation to meet the future needs of customers, expanding the brand to connect with the rapidly growing segment of content creators, including podcasters, YouTubers and other digital storytellers, and re-inventing the digital imaging category to take the business to greater heights. As a people-first leader, it’s important to me that my role extends well past driving the bottom line. Corporate social responsibility and employee well-being are critically important to me, business success and as members of the community. I am an advocate for mental health and have been recognized for my work to reduce the stigma associated with mental health in the business community. In 2022, I was a recipient of the Top 25 Women of Influence award. I speak regularly on such topics as mental health, leadership, family business governance, and retail. Podcasts & radio engagements include CBC Radio, RBC & Tony Chapman’s Chatter that Matters, LinkedIn’s The Anxious Achiever, The Voice of Retail, Dead Pixel Society and Sticky Branding. I have given keynote presentations at the Retail Council of Canada's STORE Conference, eTail Canada, CAMH, Carleton University, University of Toronto and at various YPO events. I have also been featured in the Financial Post Magazine, The Globe & Mail, Retail Insider, Ivy Business Journal and CanadianSME Business Magazine I’m an active board member and volunteer, and I am interested in new board roles. I currently sit on the Board of YPO Toronto and Abilities to Work and am an active member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO).

Chief Executive OfficerHenry'S 2015 - Jun 2024Toronto, Ontario, CaHenry’s is the largest Canadian independent digital imaging retailer operating as a family-owned business for 100+ years with 20 locations nationwide, carrying 15K+ imaging-related products. Henry’s is recognized by Deloitte as one of “Canada’s Best Managed Companies” and achieved Gold Status in 2023. The business was acquired by private equity in 2023. I took on the role of Henry’s CEO in 2015, transforming the business to be more profitable than it had ever been. We developed a strategy to help the company thrive in the short and long term, involving real estate, store formats, merchandising, people management and more. We made Henry’s more welcoming and accessible to a broader audience, particularly beginners and female creators, becoming an inclusive place where people could develop their skills and talk to experts in an encouraging, collaborative environment. We have also diversified into content creation, serving a wider community, including podcasters, YouTubers, and other digital storytellers. In 2023, I oversaw the sale of Henry’s to Lynx Equity Ltd. to position the company for further growth and accelerate its delivery of world-class, innovative products and services to consumers and businesses across Canada. -
Vp Strategy And Project ManagerHenry'S 2009 - 2015Toronto, Ontario, CaTasked with tackling strategic projects to benefit and strengthen the business, my background as a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) allowed me to take a deep look at the business and tackle projects that had been neglected or not even considered before. Eliminated a siloed-business model and brought departments closer to one another in collaboration in order to introduce and grow strategic areas while eliminating other less profitable lines of business.Having developed and implemented strategic initiatives across many areas of the business leading to the role of Vice-President of Strategy, which gave me an even stronger angle from which to build overall brand strategy for Henry’s. -
AnalystSustainalytics 2006 - 2009Amsterdam, NlSustainalytics is an environmental, social and governance (ESG) investment research firm. My background in international development and corporate social responsibility allowed me to play a critical role in developing Sustainalytics’ methodology for rating a company in terms of its ESG performance, a much softer, more subjective measurement than typical investment metrics like EBITDA and ROI. I was part of the team that collaborated on the “50 Most Socially Responsible Corporations” reports, published jointly by Sustainalytics (then known at Jantzi Research) and Maclean’s magazine, in 2007 and 2009. -
Consultant, Division For The Advancement Of Women, And Office Of The Special Advisor On Gender IssueUnited Nations 2005 - 2005New York, Ny, UsDrawing on the knowledge learned through my Masters in International Development, I was privileged to work on issues related to gender equality and violence against women, internationally and within United Nations organizations. I conducted research and prepared workshops to support an in-depth study on all forms of and manifestation of violence against women and on what the UN could do to fight against it. I also researched ways to improve gender equality within the UN itself. Part of that work involved reviewing external studies, including one conducted by Catalyst, which I summarized for publication as “The Bottom Line: Connecting Corporate Performance and Gender Diversity,” Women’s Network Newsletter 9, no. 1 (January–March, 2005)I’m also very proud to have led the establishment of the UN’s internal policy on sexual harassment and abuse for UN employees.
