About Walker Thompson

Walker Thompson was born and raised in a small town out in good ‘ol West Texas. Always in search of a new adventure, he spent his 20’s moving around Texas, carving out different life paths for himself and looking for somewhere to settle down. In 2009, he made his way to Austin and instantly knew this was the city he was going to call his home for many years to come. Walker’s previously nomadic lifestyle has given him a unique understanding of what it means to “find a home” and he uses that skill to ensure he takes the time needed to understand what it is his clients need and want so that they too, can find the perfect place to call their own.Prior to obtaining his real estate license, Walker’s career spanned various service, sales, and corporate roles. He spent several years in restaurants as a waiter, catering manager, general manager, and his family even owned a restaurant for a little while in his youth that he worked in after school. Capitalizing on his innate people skills, Walker moved into a number of sales roles that included cell phones, apartments, and 3.4 ounces of smell-good water for over $300 each (seriously, ask him about being a certified fragrance specialist).Walker also spent years working as the Operations and Investor Relations Manager for a locally-owned multifamily property management company. While there, he successfully oversaw the operations of multiple communities as well as ensured the smooth flow of multi-million dollar deals with investors. One of his more interesting career stents was the three and a half years he spent as the Chief of Staff and Regional Manager of a locally operated, specialty clinic that assisted children and families through an experience that was oftentimes emotionally traumatic.The diverse positions held and experiences had throughout his career and personal life are what make Walker an agile and diligent real estate professional. He understands that buying or selling a home can be an intense, laborious, and emotionally draining process so he approaches every transaction with integrity, a clear set of expectations, and a healthy dose of humor. Nothing makes him happier than seeing a huge smile on his client’s face when they close on their dream home or see all the commas in their bank account after selling their previous home.Walker is passionate about helping people find their way, plant their roots, and watching them thrive. Whether it’s your first time in the market or you’re an experienced buyer or seller, he prides himself on giving every client the luxury service they deserve.
