I have over twenty years experience in helping individuals and organisations to thrive. My career began with in-house and consultancy roles in public affairs, public relations, and sponsorship, and through opportunity, interest, experience and post-graduate study, developed in to providing consultancy and training on matters relating to organisational health & wellbeing. My post-grad qualifications include a PhD in epidemiology & public health (my research focused on investigating the relationships between atypical work patterns and mental health and sleep) which I achieved as a part-time student whilst I continued my busy consultancy work. Prior to this my studies included psychobiology, clinical hypnotherapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, and applied positive psychology. I'm passionate about helping others achieve a happy, healthy and productive work life. I believe it's important to understand what drives behaviour, the role that communication plays in it, and how this is influenced by attitudes, emotions and wellbeing. My philosophy is that it’s important to involve and listen to people in order to truly engage them, that there are advantages in cultivating what’s already going well, and that people are motivated by having a sense of meaning, competency, autonomy and belonging.Specialties: Work engagement; organisational stress management and resilience development; health & wellbeing at work; internal and external marketing communications.
