About Gillian "Gilly" Moon

Sound designer with an unstoppable sense of curiosity, attention to detail and love of storytelling and collaboration. I have a passion for new technology and games, especially the impact games can have for good.I worked as a technician and audio engineer for a few years before pursuing an MFA in Sound Design at California Institute of the Arts. Through my time there I discovered a world outside of live events and theater. It was through connections made at CalArts that I landed a position with Diablo Sound editing and designing sound for Universal Studios Hollywood's Halloween Horror Nights for three years. That position led me to designing sound for several more immersive productions, eventually leading to an Ovation award for my work as co-sound designer on Rogue Artist Ensemble's "Kaidan: Walls Grow Thin." I have always loved video games, especially fantastical story driven ones such as the Legend of Zelda franchise. I am seeing a lot of trends in live event sound design that ask you to think in non-linear patterns. I'm digging into game audio because I see that connection and want to utilize my skills to transcend into multiple industries. I have an innovative mindset and am equally technical and creative.
