Career Counselor
Current• Manage a caseload of 65 – 75 families who are receiving public assistance through Minnesota’s Family Investment Program, nationally know as TANF, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families• Provide employment support/coaching services to improve job placement success, address barriers, and create greater client confidence when pursuing their career • Coordinate/connect participants with critical resources to address housing, transportation, and childcare crises• Carefully adhere to strict state and federal program guidelines/requirements ensuring compliance and exceptional outcome performance while maintaining a participant-focused approach• Created and executed 2-part resume workshop to establish a solid job search foundation for all participants and address an important need per constructive/collaborative conversations with other counselors• Practice compassion and understanding to support all participant ambitions and create effective, realistic change
