PhD Scholarship under the European research program: Marie-Curie Actions - Initial Training Network.During my PhD project, I developed a novel wind turbine rotor blade multi-life-stage monitoring system concept, based on fibre Bragg grating sensors, to improve the wind turbine rotor blades (WTRB) reliability. In summary, the different tools and methodologies developed are used to improve the different design, manufacturing, and operational stages of WTRB, and to assess the structure health condition. During the last year of my master degree studies, I join INEGI as research fellow and mechanical engineer. I got involved in several R&D project and collaborate in different fields, which allowed me to apply and develop new competences as mechanical engineer. During this period, I conducted my Master thesis within the SensEFil project, with the topic- Health Monitoring of Composite Pressure Vessels Produced by Filament Winding. Since early in my mechanical engineering studies, I had a big curiosity about research and eager to put into practice my knowledge. Thus, I join a program of scholarships for under-graduated students. I worked with the topic of Finite Element Modeling (FEM) of high speed impact in metals, supervised by Prof. Francisco Pires. During this period, I developed my basic knowledge of Finite Element Method and Solid Mechanics, and it was my first contact with the scientific and research field.
