Hi everyone! Yes, I have taken on a new job after my long career in mental health with Park Center as Professional Development Coordinator. My new position involves providing academic guidance and assistance to medical students. Medical education can be a huge adjustment and challenge for students, so having access to an advisor who is available and accessible to students when they are faced with difficult decisions and hurdles in their medical program is important. As lead advisor, I strive to be a sounding board, resource, cheerleader and life and wellness coach for medical students. I am a licensed and board-certified professional counselor and a certified PTSD counselor with the American Psychotherapy Association. I am also a family coach with the Safe Families for Children Program where I help families in crisis in need of a temporary child placement option while they work through a family crisis to get to a better place. Having grown up poverty and survived various family crises, myself, I find great reward in helping others who struggle with similar issues.
