I serve as a Secondary School Counselor and Curriculum Department Chair of the Guidance Team at Yough School District. My Yough students are amazing and keep me energized to focus on Social & Emotional Learning, College Prep, and Career Development. Facilitating a high school club called "The Future Is Mine" formerly through The Consortium For Public Education, I have been inspired by my students daily. High schoolers engage in career and leadership experiences that continue to push the limits of career readiness. Their skills of teamwork, creativity, and work ethic surface in all that they do.It has been my privilege to be part of the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit's eAcademy Online Program as a "Career Ready" educator for several years. My online classes focus on Future Ready topics and skills while promoting student-driven artifacts for career portfolios for middle and high school students. Social & Emotional Learning is layered in all my online classes to care for the mental health of our online learners.Collaborating with WIU#7 for an Industry-Based initiative ignites Work-Based Learning experiences and bridges the school-to-work gap. Creating "SUCCESS eMentoring" is challenging but worth the effort.I am excited and ready for the next challenge. Forward, Always Forward...
