Primary duties include certifying product tanks for shipment of final products including: acrylonitrile, acetonitrile and acetone cyanohydrin. Analyses and equipment to complete testing include manual titration for HCN, acidity, titratable acid, titratable base, TS, TDS, H2O using a Karl Fischer coulometer, pH, UV Vis, peroxides, GC, sodium and purity. Catalyst analyses include: particle size, moisture, H20 and bulk density. Member of the site Behavior Based Safety Team. ERT member. Current TWIC card. CPR certified.

Ryton Lab Assigned to the Ryton Lab where the majority of analyses conducted is measuring the Melt Flow rate of Ryton resin using the Tinius Olsen plastometer. Other analyses and equipment include GCs, Hach, conductivity/pH/turbidity meter, ethanol extraction, auto titration, TSS, TDS, Ash, and particle size distribution using shaker screen.

Managed the Laboratory budget. Provided daily direction to lab technicians. Reviewed laboratory data and reports, analyzed products and maintained proper inventory of lab supplies. Chemical Safety Officer. Implemented mandatory PPE practices in the Lab. Achieved consistency in results.Computer skills include Microsoft Office, laboratory equipment specific software, SAP and other company specific programs (lotus Notes, Purchasing application, procedure applications, NOC application), and analytical methods and statistics. General chemistry as it pertains to the ethanol processing industry and laboratory procedures.*The plant was shuttered 12/30/11 due to soaring grain and fuel prices. All employees were laid off with the exception of the Plant manager, the Operations Manager and two maintenance technicians. Four of us were offered positions at other Abengoa facilities.
