As Director of Outreach in my final month at WPI, I co-founded the Small Business Digitization Services COVID-19 Initiative with a business professor, to counter the impact of the novel coronavirus on regional small businesses and nonprofits. Students with digitization skills are matched to clients seeking assistance with website modernization, digital storefronts, SEO and developing new websites. Partnering with the MSBDC at Clark University and the Center for Women and Enterprise in Westborough, MA, clients receive help at no cost. I also worked across complex, often fuzzy and shifting community, industry, government, nonprofit and academic boundaries, I opened channels for new projects, research and education collaborations essential to innovative societal impacts. Gathering, synthesizing and sharing decision-making data, maintaining relations, designing programs and assessing outcomes are essential keys to making change. My values lay in bridging relationships between academia, industry, government and nonprofits to create the mechanisms for a building a better future for all.

As co-founder and Associate Director of Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Collaborative for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, I developed and delivered hundreds of experiential innovation and entrepreneurship programs, lifting our ratings to top ten in the nation within four years of launching initiatives, and raising and managing hundreds of thousands for endowed programs! I engaged with faculty, students, government and quasi-government organizations, economic development agencies, industry, nonprofits, municipalities, academic institutions, angel and venture capital firms, Boards of Directors, donors, alumni, volunteers, and others to build programs, build consensus, share program innovations and work collaboratively on defining and moving I&E initiatives towards greater value-added outcomes. When the WPI Venture Forum spun out of WPI in 2013 and became a 501 c3, it became known as The Venture Forum. The last WPI Venture Forum program was the Five-Minute Pitch Contest in February 2013, where a record breaking, standing room only crowd of over 250 people attended. I trained and on-boarded new leaders to help transition the organization. The WPI Venture Forum was founded in 1990 by alumni and friends that wanted to engage WPI researchers and students in commercialization activities.
