As the owner and a featured artist at Bushwick Gallery, I lead a dynamic and inclusive space in the heart of New York City, dedicated to showcasing art from a diverse range of voices. Bushwick Gallery proudly hosts eight group exhibitions and three private exhibitions annually, offering a platform for emerging and established artists to share their unique perspectives.My personal work, grouped under the series name Untamed Moderns, is an anthology of abstract expressionism that delves into the human experience. Through a distinctive blend of monochrome and vibrant mandarin orange, my art invites viewers to engage on an introspective and emotional level. This spring, I am excited to debut new works within the Untamed Moderns collection, accompanied by the release of my book, Essence of Orange, which examines the cultural and artistic significance of color. As an Adjunct Professor of International Cuisine, I am tasked with delivering a comprehensive course that delves into world cuisines through lectures and hands-on lab experiences. My teaching philosophy underscores the importance of cultural context and historical background for each cuisine, while also promoting creativity and innovation within the culinary arts. I aim to deepen students' understanding of the evolution of international cuisines, essential cooking techniques, and the art of menu development. This includes guiding them in the preparation of dishes representative of diverse cultures. Throughout the course, I motivate students to explore unique flavor combinations and culinary techniques, encouraging them to forge their own culinary identities and contribute to the global culinary landscape's development. Additionally, my role as a TEDx CUNY speaker in 2023, where I discussed finding your food identity, complements my teaching by emphasizing the personal journey in the culinary world.
