My love of libraries shapes my life. Growing up, I spent more time at the local library than anywhere else. The organization of so many small things in such a large place fascinated me. I was a voracious reader who always had an absurd number of books checked out; I learned the hard way that the limit of checked-out books a person could have was 75. As a child I used Excel to organize which books needed to be returned on which day. This was the beginning of merging my love of books with my fascination with organization.My current goal is to learn about the archiving and preservation of historical books and objects from a professional in the field. My long term goal is to obtain an MLIS degree to archive, preserve, and curate for a museum or other institution. I am uniquely qualified to be an assistant in archiving and preservation due to my past experiences in organization, attention to detail, and communication while working in a team and also individually with higher-ups.
