Early in my career, a senior engineer advised me to be a good systems engineer I would need at least eight years of engineering experience in different areas. So, I spent many years designing analog and digital circuits (from 3.3 volts to 100K volts) for mission critical military systems. I received an award for one of my high voltage designs. To compliment my experience, I earned a MS in systems engineering. My degrees are AAS Electronics Engineering Technology, BS Electrical Engineering (Magna Cum Laude) and MS Systems Engineering (with Honors 4.0 GPA from Johns Hopkins University).I have worked the entire systems engineering life cycle. Some of the things I do and have done:- Define, Refine and Manage Requirements- Created Plans, Procedures, Specifications, and VCRMs- Manage Design Engineers- Select and Manage Sub-contractors and Vendors- Organized Projects- Perform Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Informal Trade StudiesExperience with:- FPGAs- Chemical-Biological Protection Systems- Fuze (for Missiles)- Identification Friend or Foe (Transponders and Interrogators)- RADAR (Primary and Secondary Surveillance, Active Electronically Scanned Array or AESA)- Crypto- Medical DevicesThe systems I work with are mission critical meaning they make a big difference to those who are protected by or use those systems. This makes what I do all the more rewarding.I really love engineering! It is my goal to always provide good quality work, be a productive team member and enjoy what I do. People and companies that feel the same way are the ones I consider for contracts.Interested in learning more about me? Email me at grsmith120@gmail.comGina R. Sr. Systems EngineerLeonardo Drs Feb 2023 - Sep 2023Arlington, Va, UsMy assignment involves requirement analysis, management, and specification for the cryptographic and space systems and subsystems used in software define or tactical radio and satellite applications. At a systems level, I work with algorithms, use of anti-tampering in FPGAs, and other key components necessary to ensure the system and subsystems meets requirements. DOORS is used for entering, modifying, linking, assigning verification method and validation for all requirements. This information is used to create technical documents in Microsoft Word. My knowledge of cryptography technology and systems expands beyond this assignment. It has helped me in performing my responsibilities as a systems engineer. -
Sr Systems EngineerNorthrop Grumman Aug 2019 - Feb 2023Falls Church, Va, UsMy assignment involves requirement analysis, supporting and tracking requirement verification, and attending and conducting document reviews for an Active Electronic Scanned Array (AESA) Radar with Electronic Warfare (EW), cryptology and similar technologies. Defined, analyzed, and worked with requirements for a cryptographic system, wrote test procedures for cryptographic software and anti-tamper designs. -
Sr Systems EngineerLockheed Martin (Aerotek) Oct 2018 - Jul 2019Primary surveillance Radar is the product for which I provide support. My assignment involved writing subsystem requirements, test procedures, updating user’s manuals, conducting document peer reviews and product development meetings. In addition to my assignment tasks and on my own time, I utilized several self-paced and/or instructor led training courses. These courses allow me to refresh and/or expand some of my engineering skills and knowledge.

President/CeoSystems Engineering Global Inc. Sdb M/Wbe Jun 2005 - Dec 2016As a consultant I work with small to medium size companies who use FPGAs in their products but don't have in-house expertise to modify, troubleshoot or oversee the FPGA design. I identify and solve FPGA problems thru simulation and/or hardware testing. I often worked with companies who design and develop military classified and non-classified systems. In working with me my clients save time, money and meet deadlines.
