On Canada Project is a independent media organization which has reached over 1 million people/month with edu-media content on Instagram during peak global conflicts; launched and managed a social enterprise consulting studio to fund the media work from 2021-24; organically built a community of 200k millennials and Gen Z to engage in meaningful advocacy and activism.In 2021, Gina joined as co-founder to launch Good Trouble Studios, social impact studio that channels its profits to support On Canada Project (OCP). In just two years, she designed and managed over $400k in projects with organizations like Kids Help Phone, Digital Health Canada, Meta Canada, Google News Initiative, Equal Futures Network, the Yukon Government, and the Senate of Canada, building a social enterprise to fund OCP’s independent media. Personal Note: My time as co-founder of OCP deepened my ties to social justice community organizing and understanding how technology platforms can build community online and intentionally engage millennials and Gen Z in meaningful activism offline.

Before joining as a cofounder in 2021, Gina vollunteered her time to bring together a group of community leaders and advisors to drive the strategic growth of the organization from pandemic passion project to a viable social enterprise and independent media organization. During this year OCP grew to over 100k followers on Instagram with a weekly reach of up to 1 million with our ambassador network. It has been 100% grassroots-driven, built by a team of 150 volunteers and run by an all-women executive team.

Supporting knowledge translation and partnerships work for digital health research projects in the Faculty of Health Sciences where we are building a "Health in All Data Collective" - a community of practice we will build to bring together students, academics, industry leaders, and policy shapers for discussion related to equitable approaches to digital health and health data use. Selected Projects: (1) Exploring the state of surveillance in healthcare: How are we intentionally unpacking ethical & equitable health data use in healthcare? Our mission is to help leaders learn, reflect, and co-create digital health experiences that steward equitable and ethical health data practices that protect & empower patients (2) Drones for Healthcare Research Roadmap: Our research team is exploring the use of drones across global health systems. To understand and document the current state of this technology in North America, we are hosting open knowledge exchange sessions to bring industry and community voices into our research process.

Lead relationship building and partnerships with community organizations navigating the evolving pandemic response for a series of research projects under the Faculty of Health Sciences including the management of public health communications, spread of misinformation, vaccine uptake campaigns, and the use of social media as a communications channel. At MaRS Discovery District, North America's largest urban innovation hub, I played a key role in building strategic partnerships across government, private-sector, and non-profit organizations to support Canada's growing tech sector. I led efforts to connect our portfolio of 1,500+ startups with talent pipelines, establishing the MaRS Tech Talent Advisory Council, which brought together leaders from various sectors to drive initiatives like a sector-wide diversity strategy. Additionally, I helped design and launch a training program to upskill talent with a "startup mindset," contributing to the booming tech ecosystem in Toronto. The #TalentFuelsTech Strategy report I co-authored was instrumental in sparking vital conversations about how to design for diversity & inclusion that continue to shape the industry.

Designed, delivered, and managed the MaRS fellowship program with a small but mighty team of three staff and a network of 20+ faculty and subject matter experts. This intensive 8-month fellowship was delivered to 5 cohorts of 25 fellows. The program supported entrepreneurs, industry professionals, and researchers from across healthcare, finance, cleantech, and industrial manufacturing sectors, aligned to MaRS' venture verticles. The curriculum covered strategic foresight, systems science, and design thinking coupled with applied project-based learning and professional development supports.Responsibilities included: Curriculum design supports, workshop design and facilitation, leadership programming for goal setting and career development, individual and group coaching & leading program operations and logistics.

Over 4 semesters, I led enrichment programs for undergraduate students at Western University, enhancing their post-secondary experience through workshops, leadership initiatives, and transition programming: 👉🏾Conducted 220+ hours of one-on-one counselling with students on academic, career, and personal development challenges. 👉🏾Managed a team of 20 student leaders coordinating 5 diverse initiatives including: online and print campus publications, an undergraduate student research conference, a peer mentorship program, social programming, and academic events. 👉🏾Researched, designed, and implemented new programming including: alumni scholars mentorship program, a community engaged learning capstone course for the Scholars Electives program, and a series of seminars with the School of Graduate studies on the transition from university to graduate school.
