With more than 16 years of experience, Ginger capably leads clients through the entitlement process for all types of private and public land development projects. Her in-depth knowledge of the CEQA guidelines and various public agency policies throughout California serves clients well. With an interest in sustainability and renewable energy, she recently began entitling battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. One required lobbying the local permit jurisdiction to utilize multiple CEQA Exemption criteria, saving the client months of public process, as well as thousands of dollars. Another is the first stand-alone BESS in Santa Barbara County for which construction is currently in progress and will be completed in 2021 . Ginger regularly manages and contributes to critical issue analyses and due diligence efforts for potential solar and stand-alone battery project sites throughout the Southwestern United States. She is also supporting design development for a private client’s kinetic energy storage systems project through the lens of entitlement feasibility. She recently leveraged this work into consulting for a large public utility looking to develop a new service center site in the Central Coast of California region.Ms. Andersen holds a Master of City & Regional Planning from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California Santa Barbara with a double major in Environmental Studies and Geography. She has maintained AICP certification since 2018 and is a member of the American Planning Association (APA) and American Environmental Professionals (AEP) and regularly attends industry conferences throughout the State of California keeping her private and public agency connections healthy.
