About Ginger Coons
Researcher, educator, designer and artist studying and intervening in the intersections of individuality, mass standards, and new production technologies. Based in the Hogeschool Rotterdam, and split between two institutes: Creating010 and Willem de Kooning Academy. Working on the Ethical Legal and Social Aspects (ELSA) of AI in public safety as part of the AI-MAPS project and participatory approaches to urban biodiversity in the Wijk als Biotoop project. Re-discovering my artistic practice on the side, working on projects exploring old crafts, new technologies, labour, and handwork.BFA in design from Concordia University (Montreal), and an MI and PhD in information from the University of Toronto. Former member of the Critical Making Lab (Toronto) and the Digital Cultures Research Centre (Bristol).
