I’ve worn many hats—traded stocks and commodities, had my own commodity trading company, worked in international sales, and been an educational consultant. But the time I treasure most was when I worked as a middle school teacher. I connect with kids. My passion is turning them onto the world at large. Students are surprised when they learn of the difficulties many children face in other parts of the world and begin to understand the different customs, religions, and lifestyles. They also learn how much they are alike.Additionally, I’ve travelled the world and the confluence of these events led me to write a book, a work of fiction for middle school students, The Kid Who Beat Wall Street and Saved Africa.One educator said, after my seminar series using my book:“At my inner-city public school, many of the students do not normally literally rush home to read a book after a full day of school or choose to sit in a quiet spot at lunch to keep reading.
