Complete the “current contract standing” procedure every six months. Current contract standing entails compiling a spreadsheet of all of the payers the company holds a current and up to date contract with. In this spreadsheet I keep up with all of the requirements needed to stay active and in good standing such as sending in updated Board of Pharmacy license, updated certificates of liability insurance, updated drug enforcement license, updated business license, etc. I call each payer every six months to make sure we are active and in good standing. I also check to make sure that they have not changed any of their requirements. Submit compliance validation paperwork to currently contracted payers. Submit ownership and director disclosure application to currently contracted payers. Maintain the upkeep of insurance payer scanned documents to the server and in the physical paper files. Work on urgent patient problems with processing through the billing department.
