I plan and implement literacy-enriched story time programs for preschoolers, STEM based programming for elementary school age students, and special programs for families such as Family Nature Day, holiday celebrations, and cultural events. I work with people of all ages; grandparents, parents, teens, and children. I enjoy working as a team with my excellent colleagues. We are all passionate about using the best practices to promote lifelong learning. I also collaborate with public schools to increase students', parents', and teachers' knowledge about our services to meet their academic and personal information needs. I use a variety of technological tools, from the MS Office suite, to social media, to databases, to our online circulation system in my work. I am not afraid of technology.

Similar to giving Piano Lessons from my home, I provided private tutoring in English as a Second Language to predominantly Japanese women and children. I never had a need to advertise because word of mouth kept me busy. I have a background in education and I used those skills and the Interchange Curriculum to provide practice in the English language and help with practical day to day needs of my students.

I provided Library Skills instruction to elementary school students, including research assistance and Reader's Advisory. I was the manager of one staff member. I was in charge of the Book Fair and supervised a wonderful group of parent volunteers. I did all ordering, cataloging, and repairing books and media. I was in charge of maintaining all AV materials and made sure all technology was working properly. I assisted teachers with their instructional needs and worked closely with them.
