I'm the Founder of Quantfish, a statistics training platform for health & social science researchers.Previously, I was a tenured professor of quantitative psychology. I had a good run in academia, but entrepreneurship is a much better fit for me. My expertise is in research methodology, statistics, and human development. Over the course of my university career, I developed and tested new statistical techniques that were designed to answer a variety of questions in psychology and prevention science. My accomplishments include developing an R01-level research program (receiving large amounts of money from the government to do my work through a highly competitive process) and teaching thousands of undergraduates critical skills in statistics and research methods. I’ve also trained, supervised, and mentored PhD students, many of whom are spread around the globe and doing important research. I created QuantFish to bring top-level stats training from the world’s leading methodologists to researchers everywhere. Over the past 4 years, we've grown to two dozen instructors and thousands of learners worldwide to become one of the premier statistics learning platforms for social scientists. Here on LinkedIn, I write about the challenges and promises of the research landscape. I also talk about business ecosystems for academics.
