PodRocket is an artificial intelligence (AI) service that provides a new and innovative way to discover new and interesting podcasts. I founded and developed PodRocket using cloud technologies combined with state of the art natural language processing and generative AI models and algorithms.

a .Net 4.0/C#/SQL Server system which provides full front end cart/purchase functionality and back office logistics management. The system is utilized in 4 different countries and supports multiple languages and currencies. Tasks included implementing PagSaguro (Brazilian Paypal), creating new and augmenting existing reports and administration screens, supporting and changing the shopping cart, creation and manipulation of digital certificates. Technology included .NET server controls, limited javascript and AJAX, SQL, .NET user controls, JSON, DynamicPDF, FlexCel, Aspose.

Assisted in streamlining producing quarterly reporting from Mapcom, a proprietary CAD based mapping system in which all fiber and telecom systems for the company were mapped. Existing, under construction, and projected resources were mapped and the data periodically uploaded from work crews and cleansed in order to provide accurate representation of progress. Data was routinely synchronized between work crews, Mapcom, and SQL server.

L&E Research conducts market research. Worked on enhancements to their Facility Management Plus (FMP) application. Created questionnaire builder, allowing the creation of a large variety of question types and answer type. Created a questionnaire executer, allowing applicants to answer questions and be screened accordingly. Data mining capabilities were introduced to allow sifting of old applicants for possible applicability to new market research projects. SMS bulk texting (using Twilio) and bulk email capabilities were implemented. Integrated sign-in with Facebook. Client required that all sql take place via calls to stored procedures, so extensive Transact-SQL was employed. Technologies were primarily .Net 3.5, C#, SQL Server, JSON, AJAX, javascript.

Developer for a website that is used for viewing data on education throughout the world, with emphasis on developing countries. This application received data, via import into SQL Server, from several hundred countries. The website’s primary purpose was the ability to search against this data using a wide variety of criteria, as well as to provide searching and exhibition of maps, graphs, and white papers on various countries and topics. The site was constructed in ASP .NET, using C#, with a SQL Server back end. JSON files, javascript, and JQuery were used to bring added usability to the front end interface. Google Maps technology was used to facilitate searching for images/papers via global images. Lead developer on interactive pages, and served as mentor for periodic teams of interns.

Under contract to Peopleclick (see below) developed a new export utility component using Visual Basic 6.0. against a SQL Server 2000 database. Previous implementation of imports/exports required a customized component for each customer. The new implementation used a single component the actions of which were driven by a customized XSL sheet for each client.

Worked full-time for Peopleclick as an independent contractor. Team leader and Project Manager on various ASP applications.Admin Portal. Worked as the lead on a development team to create an administration portal (Admin Portal) for management of a large scale human resources application (Recruiter’s Portal)The Admin Portal allowed addition/modification/deletion of users and groups, assigning various system permissions to roles, and then groups to those subsequent roles. Scheduling of imports and exports from customer systems was administered, as well as creation and assigning of triggers (various actions that would take place within the Recruiter’s Portal upon meeting certain circumstances; for example – emails being fired off upon a candidate being placed in a “Hired”criteria). The application was written using an ASP model with Visual Basic 6 (VB6) components and a SQL Server 8.0 database. Data was retrieved in XML and transformed using XSL. All client-side script was Javascript.Import Export Utility. Worked to develop a utility to import and export various types of customer data (candidate, requisition, etc.) into the SQL Server 8.0 database for use by the Recruiter’s Portal. Imports and exports were formatted in XML. Visual Basic 6.0 (VB6) components were used to perform necessary manipulation to enter imports into the database, and to format exports into the correct XML. File manipulation was accomplished via these components, and a scheduler was built into the Admin Portal to allow users to perform hourly, daily, one-time only exports and to dictate file names and locations. FTP was used to deliver export files.

Worked in a consulting capacity with various clients to develop traditional client-server applicationsRepossession Application and Database. Developed a VB5 client to interact with a SQL Server 7 database containing records for a major car repossession company in NC. The front end allowed users to search through available cars based on various criteria to allow visibility into cars available throughout the state and facilitate redistribution and resale, as well as to keep track of funds/costs associated with these cars. Real Estate Application and Database. Developed an Access 7.0 for a large local real estate company in Raleigh NC. At the client’s request, both the front end and back end were developed in Access 7.0. The database housed information for all real estate listings for which the firm was either the selling or listing agent. All agents and their associated percentages were also housed. The application was expanded to perform as a General Ledger for the company. Over 60 reports were included in the application.

Worked as a software developer for MGV Software. The company had developed a proprietary ODBC driver to allow Windows applications to retrieve data from IBM cash registers databases. Primary duty was to develop a front end application in VB5 using this ODBC driver to allow retrieval by users of cash register information based on date criteria. End users were able to view types of items being bought, group these and report on them using Crystal Reports. All activity previously inaccessible to store owners would be accessible for analysis on easily available Windows operating systems.

Worked in a consulting environment for major Federal government agencies. Primary duties involved developing environmental plans and documentation, such as Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans and Monitoring Guidance Documents. Facility Response Plans, and Spill Control Plans. Heavy emphasis was on interaction with the client and on-site evaluation. Software development was required for both in-house and client usage. Software development included two Microsoft Access databases.Tree Database and Application. An Access 97 database (both front and back ends) was developed to store and manipulate data on the types and condition of trees present on a federal installation. This database was intended for initial input by SEA staff and subsequent sustained maintenance by the client. The database and its front end were programmed in Access at the request of the client, should they be required to make essential changes to the structure in the future.Community Comments and Response Database and Application. An Access 97 database with a Visual Basic front end was developed to handle responding to comments received as a result of public hearings on the Colorado Airspace Initiative Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). The National Environmental Policy Act, under which the document was written, demands full response to public comments from the federal agency proposing the initiative. The primary duty of this database was to guide the user through the response process, including delegation of comments to the appropriate responder (biological concerns to a biologist), inputting responses to the comments and retaining the correct order, and generating responses to be paired to the commentor’s letter.
