I grew up in rural Oxfordshire and always loved to travel. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to flying and travel at a very young age, it was whilst parachuting that I realised I wanted to stay up in the sky a little bit longer and so at 18 years old, whilst studying at Business College, I worked towards my private pilot’s license and qualified with a PPL.I have continued to enjoy working in the Aviation industry for the past 30 years. I started out in Airport Ground Operation, roles such as Check -in and Dispatch where I was able to meet people from all over the world as well as one of my closest lifelong friends, you never know just what will happen during a shift at Heathrow Airport, it is such a dynamic environment.When I was 21 years old I accepted an opportunity to work abroad for 3 years. I moved to Germany and Switzerland and worked in Sales & Marketing setting up new airline Bases and Routes in Europe before moving back to the UK to start a new department for bmi.It was at this time I wanted to move my career into the flight deck, and having already qualified as a Private Pilot, I decided to start my studies to become a Commercial Airline Pilot.I qualified in 2005, and as all new pilots do, I worked hard at taking any opportunity that would give me more experience. During the cyclical times of Aviation, the ups and downs, I took various other aviation support and management positions whilst maintaining my ATPL license privatelyIt was whilst working at a Fixed Based Operation that I finally secured a position as a First Officer in an Executive Jet company.After 15 years of working both as an Airline pilot and Executive Jet Pilot, I am now moving in to Aviation Recruitment and I hope that I will be able to be partly instrumental in finding other Aviation professionals and Flight Crew their dream jobs.
