During my time at the TCC Eye Clinic, I diagnosed and treated more than 160 Alaskan Natives while working under the experienced Dr. Carolyn Click, an SCO graduate and career-long optometrist with the Indian Health Service. I traveled to Arctic Village and Koyukuk to provide on-site comprehensive eye care to those with limited access to health care. I diagnosed glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, panuveitis, and a myriad of other ocular diseases and treated them with the guidance and oversight of Dr. Click.

• Participated in a one-year leadership program to implement statewide service-learning initiatives focused on health, education, and economics• Conducted 2,754 vision screenings as a part of a team that screened over 36,000 preschool-age children in Head Starts and daycares throughout the southeastern United States• Managed a free tax-preparation clinic service low to moderate income households as part of a team that prepared returns for thousands of families throughout Alabama

• Served as a liaison between students and leadership to address network feedback from 60+ schools• Developed strategies for improving operations by taking initiative to communicate with campus leaders• Highlighted volunteers throughout the United States through published communication

• Collaborated with a team of interns to support social and environmental justice initiatives• Served as a liaison between Auburn faculty and the office to ensure that both parties felt heard and had opportunities to implement change on campus• Developed and launched a campus wide battery recycling program to reduce waste in each department

• Instructed 128 undergraduate students in proper scientific method while maintaining an approachable lab setting• Encouraged a hands-on learning environment through participating alongside students in lab• Attended weekly preparatory meetings to become an expert on laboratory technique and experimental procedure
