I have over 25 years on various areas of law, mainly focusing on Probate and Real Estate. I was a Office Manager as well as the Paralegal for a firm I worked for 19 years. Then after the employer decided to practice law from home, I began working for Gene W. Gray, Jr., P.C. and being that Mr. Gray specialized in Real Estate, he taught me everything there is to know about Real Estate from receiving the contract, closing to the post-closing procedures. While working for Mr. Gray I decided that since I enjoyed Real Estate that I wanted to pursue a career in that area of law. After working for Mr. Gray for almost 2 years, I was offered a job opportunity at South Oak Title as a Closer, I was responsible then once the realtor submitted the contract to me, I was to order title (obtaining payoffs of mortgages, and any other items to obtain a clear title to close, I prepared the Closing Disclosure and balanced with the mortgage company, communicated with both seller/buyer all the agents involved, obtained all items on the contract, such as, survey, WIR and transfer, etc., prepared all the closing documents, including deed, affidavits, etc., I learned alot at South Oak but unfortunately my employment didnt work out like I had planned, as I was not provided with the necessary equipment to operate, so I had to resign and was very disappointed as I believe the company's growth had became more than they had expected. As for the present time, I have returned to work for Patricia N.Moore, Attorney I worked for her for 19 years, but after resigning at South Oak, Ms. Moore had some billing to catch up on, subpoenas to serve, etc. , so I am currently working for her part-time until I find long-term employment, possibly a company in Real Estate with opportunity for advancement.
