Over 20 years of experience in civil litigation defense experience, including premises liability, commercial trucking, flood insurance, homeowners insurance, construction defect, personal injury, and products liability. I have also handled collections and succession matters (i.e. probate). I am licensed to practice before all state courts and federal courts in Louisiana. I am also licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, as well as federal court for the Southern District of Texas. Some examples of my prior experience include:* Lead trial counsel on trip-and-fall case in which the court found the plaintiff to be 75% at fault. The verdict was appealed by the Plaintiff to the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal and the allocation of comparative fault was affirmed.*Defense of general contractors and their insurers in construction defect cases and those arising under the Louisiana New Home Warranty Act.* Defense of casinos, bars, and other premises owner in cases involving intentional acts (i.e. fights) by patrons, guests, and security guards.* Motion for Summary Judgment on behalf of casino gaming client, in slip-and-fall case, which was originally denied by the trial court but reversed by the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, granting summary judgment in behalf of the casino, and dismissing the case.* Defense of flood insurance carriers (participants in the National Flood Insurance Program) in federal courts throughout the United States, including New York, New Jersey, Texas, Massachusetts and Louisiana. Handled all aspects of defense, including depositions, settlement conferences, and motions practice. Served as second chair in federal trial on behalf of WYO Program insurance, which resulted in verdict in favor of defendant.* Defense of a trucking company in a class action environmental suit and seeking insurance coverage from the company's liability insurers.
