Lead a group of 7 people to carry out an industrial survey in different sectors. • Converted a conflictive client-provider situation into a collaborative and harmonious one managing the after sales support, problem solving and design improvement of SCRT diesel engine emission systems installed on 330 TMB buses (Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona). • Administered R&D and product and business development, as well as operations of the entire company. • Created the company Quantech ATZ from scratch, financed by Professors from the UPC, as a result of some of my successful R&D projects at CIMNE (previous employer) enabling technology transfer into other sectors. • Managed the conversion of academic Stampack software targeting mechanical sheet forming processes to commercial industrial products generating over 80% of Quantech company revenue. This required managing technical aspects, training, documentation, marketing and commercial aspects including the creation a distribution network. The product still exists and was purchased by the world market leaders for incorporation into their system. Defined the software user methodologies and interactions that were considered innovative at the time.• Built and managed an international distribution network increasing company revenue and enhancing product delivery in Europe, South America, China and Japan.• Successfully repeated the process for the academic Vulcan software targeting the casting/foundry sector. Close liaison with Renault Foundry, the major industrial collaborator for part of the process.• Design project managed using novel CAE simulations to design and improve the performance for specialist fasteners for Mikalor, followed up with prototypes, reporting, final product evaluation, etc.• Drove software adaptations to create market share in alternative sectors gaining clients such as Kawasaki HI and Mitsubishi HI in Japan, Pechiney Group and Metalpack.• Secured a large amount of local, national and EU R&D funding for creating academic versions of the Stampack and Vulcan softwares into commercial products, including development of new e-training and e-working technologies.• Enhanced the technology transfer between the university and local and international industry.
