Gerardo Interiano is Senior Vice President of Government Relations and Public Affairs at Aurora, the company building self-driving technology to deliver the benefits of the future of transportation safely, quickly, and broadly. Based in Pittsburgh, Gerardo leads Aurora’s efforts to help define self-driving policy and ensure self-driving vehicles are both developed and delivered to our roads safely. With more than fifteen years of advocacy, campaign, and legislative experience, he has brought highly regulated products to market in various industries, including transportation and telecommunications. Gerardo’s efforts have focused on democratizing transportation, bridging the digital divide, and harnessing the power of technology to create greater economic opportunities for underrepresented communities. Gerardo has a B.A. and J.D. from The University of Texas at Austin. He was appointed by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf to the Pennsylvania Highly Automated Vehicle Advisory Committee on behalf of the self-driving industry as well as the Pennsylvania Workforce Development Board. In addition, Gerardo serves on the Boards of Directors of the Heinz History Center and VisitPITTSBURGH. He received the 2020 University of Texas at Austin Outstanding Young Texas Ex Award, is a 2017 Presidential Leadership Scholar, and received the 2015 Austin Under 40 Government and Public Affairs Award. Gerardo is married to Aynsley and they have three children, Isabela, Sofia, and Sebastian.
