With 30-plus years of public company senior leadership, accounting, reporting and consulting experience, I currently specialize in advising company Boards and senior executive management on executive compensation, corporate governance policies and human capital strategies. With my background with public companies, I also counsel on SEC compliance, financial reporting matters, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls/procedures and assessments, real estate GAAP accounting research and overall commercial real estate reporting and systems. Prior to my current role, I spent 26 years at Veris Residential, Inc. (fka Mack-Cali Realty) where I was Chief Accounting Officer and led a large, 60-plus staff accounting department for a publicly-traded REIT, handling all SEC reporting and compliance, SOX controls development and implementation; providing guidance and information to the Board and Audit Committee and coordinated audit requests with internal and external auditors. During my impressive tenure at Veris, I worked alongside six different CEOs and three CFOs to help navigate the Company through several mergers, sales, restructurings and Board changes, handling all levels of accounting/reporting responsibilities and being a consistent key executive starting with the Company’s IPO through its transformation from office holdings to its current focus on owning and managing luxury apartments.
