Giorgio Giacinto is Full Professor of Computer Engineering at the University of Cagliari, Italy. In 1995, he joined the Pattern Recognition and Applications Lab at the Dept. of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Cagliari, Italy, and in Nov. 2000, he was appointed a permanent faculty position. He got a PhD in information engineering in 1999 from the University of Salerno, Italy.Prof. Giacinto is the coordinator of the MSc program in Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence (https://www.unica.it/cyberai).Prof. Giacinto is a senior member of the IEEE and the ACM, and he is a Fellow of IAPR.His research activities focus on using machine learning approaches for cybersecurity within the framework of national and European projects.
