I was an engineer even before graduation. This may sound hilarious but I simply mean I’ve been loving to use my brain since I was a child, to be a broadminded thinker, to reflect, to find solutions and solve problems. I think I am a good researcher (in the widest sense of the term) and a good engineer, who observes the world with curiosity, guessing how things work or why they do not and how they can be improved, validating and proofing every idea and result, able to face every new and unexpected situation. Formally, I am an engineer and I got a PhD in Computer Science working on the following topics: database, data modeling, metadata management, knowledge management, logic, semantics, rule-based systems, formal systems. After graduation I started working, mainly on the same topics, on natural language processing, on machine learning and on data governance, as presales engineer, consultant, researcher, software engineer, teacher and more in public/local administrations and private sectors (e.g. ICT, TELCO, energy, transportation, automotive, retail, banking). With more than 10 years of experience in Academy and Industry, I got the best from both worlds.
