Buckland is a Canadian customs brokerage and international trade consulting company. It provides a range of services related to customs compliance, trade logistics, and cross-border trade. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, I join the Finance Team first as a part-time while finishing college and current as full-time. At first I took Accounts Receivables tasks, receiving cheques, preparing cash forecasts and daily deposits. After I graduate I started taking other accounting tasks such as:- Year-end processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data through meticulous reconciliation efforts.- Assist with Year-end audit - Bank and Accounts Reconciliation and working papers to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies - Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable - Assistance in preparation of Month-End Journal Entries and Closings.- Manage and prepare Expenses Reports using Concur related to Corporate credit card, overseeing transactions and posting expenses in the GL accounts.- Provide cross-training when needed.

After 6 months working as Intern I was promoted to Commercial Assistant. My work consisted in providing assistant to the Sales Representative of the Branch - assisting Medium-Sized Companied (Gross Revenue from $7 million to $71 million per year) in issuing contracts, releasing loans and supporting the companies into their daily banking activities and closing.

I was hired as an Intern for one of the Superintendents of branches across northeast of Brazil. My worked consisted in support the management of the branches sales, preparation and consolidation of materials and controlling tools management for the Superintendent.

Fiplan Consultoria e M&A is a consulting company that serves Small and Medium Sized companies that seek to maximize results through planning, measurement and interpretation and continuous monitoring of economic-financial performance. It was a company with few employees and many new projects, so I had the chance to have great autonomy and participate in 2 Valuation projects with Mergers and Acquisitions and 3 monthly Strategic Controller clients. In Valuation projects I was responsible for collecting all financial information with the company (going through accounts receivable, billing, sales, IT), checking them, presenting it to directors, future buyers and their own consultants, making any necessary changes until finally calculating the company's value by Discounted Cash Flow.In monthly Strategic Controllership I provided assistance in generating and analyzing financial reports, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, and various Financial Ratios. Also responsible for creating a Budget on Year-End and tracking actual financial performance against the budget. Any significant variances were investigated, and adjustments were made as necessary.
