Giovanni Vaia graduated in business economics at the University of Naples with honors. He gained his Doctorate in Organisation and Technology from the University of Molise in Italy. Now he is completing his second PhD in Information Science at Turku School of Economics.He is Assistant Professor with tenure at Ca’ Foscari University Venice at the Department of Management where he teaches Business Administration and Global Sourcing. Giovanni Vaia’s interests include organization design with a specific focus on information systems, network governance and outsourcing, governance of information systems, IT Outsourcing. Giovanni's research work is published in the following journals: Management of Information System Quarterly Executive, Journal of Information Technology TC, Economia & Management.He has a strong collaboration with national industrial associations and sits on the board of two industrial/professional associations ITSM Forum Italy Italia www.itsmf.it and the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals www.iaop.org (Chair the Italian Chapter). Within itSMF he coordinates the research unit on IT Service Management that produce annually an industry report and he is research associate in the IAOP research unit.At Ca’ Foscari he developed and manage today a panel of CIO, from multinational companies, focused on the specialized areas of governance, business process management and outsourcing.
